August 12, 2025
Huntsville International Airport (HSV) announces the arrival of Allegiant Air and the addition of three new nonstop routes with service to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), St. Petersburg/Clearwater/Tampa (PIE) and Orlando (SFB). Allegiant will debut at HSV in November, and fares will start at $39 one-way.
The airline, known for its nonstop flights and industry-low fares, will operate routes between Huntsville, Alabama via Huntsville International Airport (HSV) and the following cities:
“As we proudly extend Allegiant’s footprint in Alabama, we are genuinely honored to be welcomed with such warmth and enthusiasm by the Huntsville community,” Allegiant’s Vice President of Planning & Revenue, Kristen Schilling-Gonzales, said at a press conference at the airport this morning. “Our decision to invest here is grounded in a deep belief in the remarkable spirit and potential of Huntsville, a city that continually demonstrates its dynamism and hospitality. Today marks only the beginning of our investment in the community.”
Huntsville International Airport hosted the press conference today featuring remarks from the Mayor of Huntsville, Tommy Battle; Huntsville International Airport Board Chair Joey Ceci; Huntsville International Airport CEO, Butch Roberts; Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon; and Schilling-Gonzales. The event highlighted the airline’s commitment to Huntsville and their investment in the community.
“Today, we are not only celebrating the return of Allegiant, we are celebrating the fruits of our community choosing to fly Huntsville first,” Ceci said. “Huntsville International is attracting great airline partners like Allegiant because airlines are taking notice that there is demand in Huntsville and North Alabama for quality, affordable air service that Allegiant provides.”
The new routes, launching later this year and in early 2026, will provide convenient, nonstop service between these cities and expand Allegiant’s growing presence in popular leisure destinations. As more travelers seek value-driven travel options, Allegiant remains dedicated to making dream vacations possible with budget-friendly fares and excellent customer service.
Huntsville International Airport (HSV) has been voted the number one small airport in the U.S. by Newsweek Reader’s Choice Awards (2024, 2025) and USA Today (2020) and served more than 1.6 passengers in 2024. Five airlines serve the 18-county service region in North Alabama and South Central Tennessee with non-stop commercial service to 18 destinations.
“We are really looking forward to Allegiant joining our team at Huntsville International Airport. They are an award-winning airline, and our airport has three times been voted the best small airport in the U.S.,” said Roberts. “There is huge demand for leisure travel in our market, and Allegiant has recognized the opportunity here by bringing three popular Florida vacation destinations closer with nonstop flights right from Huntsville to St. Pete/Clearwater, Sanford/Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. We couldn’t be more pleased to share this exciting news with our community.”
In addition to unveiling new routes, Allegiant has extended its flight schedule through May 2026, offering travelers the ability to plan vacations and book travel accommodations in advance. A hallmark of Allegiant’s leisure-focused business model is its network of all-nonstop flights, making air travel more seamless and accessible.
