Huntsville International Airport is expanding its nonstop flight schedule.

Huntsville International Airport (HSV) is expanding its nonstop flight schedule with new service to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) on Breeze Airways. The new air service will begin June 12 and is offered on Fridays and Mondays from HSV.

The new Breeze route reflects continued growth in passenger demand and strengthens Huntsville International Airport’s role as a key transportation gateway for the region.

“The addition of nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale demonstrates the momentum of the Huntsville market and the importance of continued investment in air service,” said Butch Roberts, CEO of Huntsville International Airport. “Our North Alabama travelers will enjoy greater connectivity and convenience to South Florida than ever before.”

Travelers often choose to fly into FLL for its close proximity to one of the world’s busiest cruise ports and the convenience that a less-crowded, alternative airport offers.

“Our Guests in Huntsville now have another great destination in Florida to visit, making it more convenient than ever to visit the Sunshine State,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “The greater Fort Lauderdale region has a lot to offer travelers, and we can’t wait to launch this new destination in June.”

Fares to FLL will start at $39 one way. Passengers will fly on brand-new Airbus A220s commissioned by Breeze. Breeze chose Huntsville as one of its first cities to begin service upon launching the airline in May 2021. Breeze currently flies nonstop from HSV to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa.
