History

The Port of Huntsville is celebrating 50 years of being in its current location.

The Port of Huntsville has been in its current location for over 50 years. It first opened to the public on Sunday, Oct. 29, 1967. What used to be miles and miles of cotton fields has transformed into an economic development engine for the Tennessee Valley Region. With approximately 7,000 acres of land, the Port of Huntsville today is comprised of Huntsville International Airport (HSV), International Intermodal CenterĀ  (Air Cargo and Rail Cargo), and Jetplex Industrial Park.
