Huntsville International Airport (HSV) have a new amenity to help with those bio-breaks. The first
indoor SARA (Service Animal Relief Area) facility opened this week at the Airport.
The SARA room is completely enclosed and is located inside the concourse on the lower level by
Gates 11 and 12. It is accessible by both an elevator and stairs located near Gate 10.
“Customer service is one of our Airport’s core values, and that means anticipating the needs of every
traveler we serve,” said Butch Roberts, Huntsville International Airport CEO. “Adding a service animal
relief area inside the concourse enhances comfort and accessibility for passengers traveling with their
service animals or pets and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming, dignified
experience for all.”
The SARA room provides these amenities to customers traveling with their animals:
Large synthetic K9 turf relief station with a flushing mechanism for cleanliness
Water hose with spray for additional rinsing of the artificial turf
Solid waste station with pickup bags provided
Climate-controlled enclosed room
Washing sink
Wall hooks for hanging bags, coats and small items
The SARA facility is free to use for travelers with both service animals and pets, and animals must
remain on leash at all times. HSV also has a fenced outdoor pet relief garden adjacent to the airport
terminal on the west side.
