The Port of Huntsville officially opened to the public on October 29, 1967. Initially surrounded by miles of cotton fields, it was developed to support regional growth and economic development. Today, it spans approximately 7,000 acres and includes Huntsville International Airport (HSV), the International Intermodal Center (Air Cargo and Rail Cargo), Jetplex Industrial Park, and Spaceport.
Today, the Port of Huntsville stands as a testament to vision and perseverance, contributing significantly to the Tennessee Valley’s economy. It serves as a vital logistics hub for air and rail cargo, business opportunities, and employment, fostering a strong community with a global reach.
