Request for Proposal Equipment Storage Building Project

The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority (“Owner”) is requesting proposals for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the EQUIPMENT STORAGE BUILDING PROJECT (the “Project”) at Huntsville International Airport (the “Airport”), located in Huntsville, Alabama. Bids must be submitted electronically to Owner’s Representative, Jim Flowers, at the email address Jim.Flowers@hsvairport.org, with a copy to the Architect, Katelyn Wasser with Nola VanPeursem Architects, P.C., at the email address Katelyn@nvparchitects.com, no later than 2:00 p.m. on June 26, 2025 (the “Bid Due Date”).

Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders included in the Request for Proposals package (the “RFP”). Bidder must be an Alabama General Contractor licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors for Alabama pursuant to Alabama Code Section 34-8-1, et seq. Only bids of such Contractors who are licensed prior to the date of bid opening will be considered. Bidder must include his/her current license number in the subject or body of the email with Bidder’s bid or otherwise Bidder’s bid shall be rejected. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will not be considered. Pre-qualification of bidders is not required.

An electronic copy of the complete Request for Proposals, including the Plans and Specifications, may be obtained at no cost by emailing the Architect at the above-mentioned email address. Any and all questions related to the Request for Proposals and other Contract Documents shall be directed by email to Architect with a copy to Owner’s Representative.

The Project will consist of construction of an 8,500 square foot pre-engineered metal equipment storage building, including site improvements, overhead doors, plumbing, heating, and electrical work.

There will be a pre-bid conference held on June 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the second floor of the Engineering and Facilities building located at 104 Facility Way Huntsville, AL 35824. Attendance at the meeting is not required but is highly recommended.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract amount, as shown on the schedule of prices, which shall be made payable to Owner and shall be subject to the conditions set forth in the RFP. A performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a labor and material payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, technicalities or irregularities in the bids received, to reject any or all bids, and to enter into negotiations with the lowest responsive bidder. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 45 days after the Bid Due Date.
